Peace of mind: Penguin Living Safety Features

Penguin Living is dedicated to creating safe and accessible living spaces for individuals with disabilities in our handicap-accessible apartments. We have implemented various safety features to prioritize the well-being of their residents.

One important feature is the heating and cooling system in each room, which provides independently controlled and filtered air. This ensures good air quality, which is especially crucial for people with respiratory conditions. Effective ventilation systems guarantees clean and fresh air, reducing the risk of respiratory issues and promoting overall health.

Elevators and barrier-free entrance doors are also included in these apartments. These features enable individuals with mobility challenges to access their apartments independently, eliminating the need for stairs. They provide easy access for those using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids, removing physical barriers.

In case of emergencies, all apartments have a wheelchair emergency egress that does not require the use of the elevator. This ensures that individuals using wheelchairs can safely evacuate the building. By prioritizing wheelchair accessibility in emergency plans, Penguin Living ensures equal opportunities for all residents to exit safely.

Our low vision design is another essential safety feature. This includes the use of tactile pavers are installed in the walkways to assist individuals with visual impairments in navigating the property and reaching their apartments safely. These pavers provide tactile indicators of changes in direction, stairs, and obstacles. High-contrast finishes throughout the apartments, such as contrasting colors on walls, floors, and cabinets, enhance visibility and reduce the risk of accidents or falls for individuals with visual impairments.

Penguin Living's focus on these and other safety features sets a new standard for accessible apartment design. By incorporating improved air quality, elevator and barrier-free entrances, wheelchair emergency egress, and visual impairment support, we prioritize the safety and well-being of residents with disabilities. Moreover, these features contribute to a more inclusive and welcoming living environment for everyone. Penguin Living is committed to creating spaces that cater to the diverse needs of their residents.
